"I love this product! My hair is long, thick, curly, color-treated and very, very dry. I live in Florida, so I fight constant frizz year-round. I've used this hair mask twice. My hair is now frizz-free, shiny, healthy, and looks amazing. I wouldn't believe that after just two applications over two weeks would make such a significant difference, but they did. I've tried many, many hair products and nothing has produced these results before. I wash my hair, then dry it, then apply the conditioner. I put on a shower cap, wrap my head in a towel, and let it soak in for 30-45 minutes. My hair sucks it in." —Connie D
"This product is AMAZING! It's probably one of the best things I've ever purchased on Amazon. I am mixed black and white, and I've colored my hair a million times. My ends are ALWAYS dry, even after a haircut. I would probably have to cut all of my hair off in order for it to be healthy. After using this mask, my hair is smoother than ever. You can't even tell that my hair was damaged. I will purchase this product again!" —Tierra Gray
"I have really thick and long natural hair that has a hard time staying moisturized. When I first received the hair mask, I was a bit skeptical that the product would be enough for three washes, but was pleasantly surprised to find that a little bit of product went a long way. I deep-conditioned with heat for about 15-20 minutes and rinsed the product out. And... MY HAIR WAS SO SOFT AND MOISTURIZED AND MY ENDS LOOKED SO MUCH HEALTHIER. It's been about a week and my hair has stayed moisturized ever since. 10/10 would recommend." —Riani B.
"Since I started using this in October 2016, my thin, fine hair has grown over five inches, my gray hair seems nonexistent, and the color of my hair is vibrant (I am a strawberry blond). The health of my hair is the best is has ever been! And, if you follow the directions, it takes very little product, so it's long-lasting, and the price is excellent. I am a huge fan!!!" —Karen
1. The catcalling comes at an all-time high as soon as you show even an ankle, and somehow people will suggest that what you wore was the issue.
2. On hot days, the last thing you want to do is wear a bra but you have to because a nip slip is almost a guarantee.
3. But then you reconsider wearing a bra because if you have a nip slip, that's someone else's problem, not yours.
4. And even though society says it's "progressive", seeing your nips in a t-shirt still freaks out some of your friends and family.
5. So you make a final decision and opt for a strapless bra instead, but none give you the reassurance that you will not flash someone.
6. And you live in mortal terror that at any given moment, your boob will fall out of your tank top.
7. And even if they don't fall out, people will stare at your chest all summer and freak you TF out.
8. Or you will feel like you've put dumbbells on your chest as you try to squeeze your girls into tops that are summer-ready but not ready for your body.

"Please raise your hand if you've ever felt personally victimized by combination skin. My combination skin is a champion multitasker: It's super dry around the jaw area, oily in the T-zone, highly sensitive and prone to redness, and frustrating no matter the season! I've tried a lot of different moisturizers over the years, ranging in price from $8.99 to >$70 (I know — I KNOW), and it always went the same way: If it moisturized my muzzle (is that a cute or a gross way to refer to my lower face? I can't decide), it left my forehead a puddle of grease. But if it spared the grease, my face was dry, dull, and itchy. I assumed that no matter what, I would always be either a little oily or a little dry, so one fateful day in Sephora, I said, essentially, 'Fuck it, I'm just gonna buy the one with the packaging I like most,' which happened to be Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream. Turned out, it was also exactly what my fussy skin needed.
This cream is chock-a-block with ceramides, which are apparently the Hot New Ingredient (HNI) in skincare. Look, I'm going to be honest: I have no idea whether any of that is even remotely scientifically valid. But I can tell you that I have seen a significant difference in my skin since I started using this cream two months ago. When I bought it, I was in the midst of a cold, and I had the very fetching nostril dryness that accompanies excessive nose-blowing. After two days of twice-daily application, all trace of dryness had vanished. This stuff also claims to 'alleviate signs of sensitivity,' which, as a skin sensie, I can corroborate. I haven't seen a trace of the garden of little red patches that used to bloom all over my face when I lotioned up. AND! My formerly typical late-afternoon forehead shine is a thing of the past. My skin stays hydrated and matte all day. Oh, and it smells, subtly, like a very fancy spa — sort of earthy and fresh, like some expensive kind of dirt that only Gwyneth Paltrow knows about.
At $48 a tube, it's not cheap. But it is without a doubt the best thing I've ever done for my face (okay, aside from quitting smoking)." —Jessie Gaynor

My summer go-to look is:
I’m an island girl, so I love a free-flowing dress in the spring. I’ve also been obsessed with wearing sexy one-piece swimsuits as bodysuits and pairing them with jeans or a cute skirt.
I'm most looking forward to:
White shoes: My white mules are currently one of my favorite things in my closet.
Bright, bold, colors: green is my color at the moment. Bright, deep green. Marigold is also another color I’m loving. Anything jewel-toned or saturated, like a bold pink or cerulean…I’ll be rocking this spring and straight into summer.
Fashion by the decades: the '70s and '90s have been really heavy on the runway. I’m feeling fringe all over and clear plastic on accessories. I’ve been eyeing that clear Chanel hat.
An affordable must-have(s) for every fashionista is:
A jewel tone dress. These colors look good on every skin tone. A casual white t-shirt that you can replace every couple of months so it remains bright and white. I love anything with sequins, like a purple lamè skirt. A pair of jeans that really fit you in all the right places will always be in style. Oh, and fishnet socks if you want to get fancy.
The best style advice I ever received was:
1) Think of your clothing and your wardrobe differently. Find unique sources so you're not constantly wearing the same thing as everyone else. You can rent or thrift clothes to add unique pieces to your wardrobe, or even score a designer piece for less than the original coset. 2) Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident, there is nothing worse (or obvious) than when you are uncomfortable in what you are wearing. 3) Invest in your accessories. Not only do they have a higher resale value, but it can instantly elevate any outfit.
"To put it plainly, I'm not a huge fan of heels, but, when I saw these highly-reviewed Everlane Day Heels, I fell...well, head over heels! That two-inch block heel? Totally after my comfy-first philosophy! I love that they come in *so many* colors, as well as suede, soft leather, and patent finishes. I got the navy suede because it's not quite black, but it's dark enough to hide little scruffs, and it's still easy to pair with just about everything in my wardrobe: jeans, dresses, and basically everything else in my wardrobe (I didn't realize there were so many blue tones in it, lol).
So, let's talk about wear. My first thought after I slipped these puppers on was, 'HOLY SHIT, are these really heels? They don't feel like any heels I've ever worn, period. They're so comfortable.' I knew the heel would be low, but I didn't expect them to actually feel like flats. And the best part is — drumroll, please — the elasticized backs are SO soft and stretchy (the little loop also makes it super easy to get a snug fit), that there were no blisters/rubbing/anything on the back of my heel and the bony part of my achilles (anatomy isn't my strong point, sorry). Usually the backs of my heels are war zones of overlapping bandages for the first five times I wear a new pair of shoes before they are painfully broken in. I did have to loosen up the front parts of the shoes a bit with the 'ol thick-socks-and-blowdryer-trick, but that took all but a minute. I walked around in them all day long with no problem and actually felt sad about having to take them off when I got home — so, yeah, these are what I call 'game changers.' Even though I'll still keep my flats in rotation, I felt more sophisticated and purposeful walking around the office when I have my Day Heels on — they make me feel like a Real Professional Adult Woman, and a few, much-needed inches taller at that! Bless you, Everlane." —Sarah Han

Step one: I wash my face with a small dab of the same Neutrogena cleanser, but this time I don't use the Foreo cleansing device; just a quick splish splash with my hands.
Step two: Time to get toned; I use the same cotton rounds and toner to balance the skin and remove any residue or sebum that's appeared overnight and prep my skin for my daytime moisturizer.
Step three: Return of the eye cream. Same tapping, blah blah blah. You get the picture.
Uhm hello?!? I am glowing! My breakouts on my chin, jawline and cheeks have reduced by about 80%, and when I do get a nasty cystic pimple, the mask dries it right out in a day or two. By using a lot of products I had on hand, changing my diet, staying consistent, and using a product that gives dramatic results, I found a skincare routine that works for me. I am excited to keep doing it, and eventually try out other skincare products. I no longer feel afraid or intimidated by the world of skincare.
The most important thing starting a skincare routine gave me was to take more time for myself and sit with the fact that I am worth that time, as we all are. This routine forced me to set aside time every day to take care of my skin, and the results are incredible. It has encouraged me to take care better care of myself in other areas of my life as well. Doing it at first felt like a chore, and now it feels like a relief, to step out of the chaos and stress life can bring just for a few minutes every day, and focus on me.
When I was writing this post, I searched and searched for a good before pic to use to compare with how my skin looks now. I looked all the way back in my phone, and I have not one single close-up selfie of my face without a filter over it taken in the last year or so. This made me realize how much shame and insecurity I still carry about my face. I was ignoring my face in effort to ignore the fact that picking used to be, and sometimes still is, a daily struggle for me to stop doing. My face felt like a walking poster for how well or not well I was dealing with dermatillomania. Now, it feels so so good to do something good for my skin every day. I get to see my face heal from the years of damage and acne it has endured. So I don't have a dramatic before and after shot for you, but I do have this photo of myself to share as I am now: glowing, healing, loving my skin, and unashamed to take an up-close selfie with no filter for the first time in a very long time.

I think there are a lot of mental benefits to a regimented skincare routine. Most of us are going to have breakouts. I personally breakout at least twice a month due to hormones alone. At the end of the day, what we can control, is the time, attention, and love we give to our bodies.
