What you’ll need: club soda.
It removes any product residue, buildup from sweat, and even chlorine and salt water from swimming in the pool and ocean. Celebrity hair colorist Beth Minardi tells BuzzFeed Life that it "refreshes the scalp, dilutes and then lifts away the chlorine, and quickly 'fills' the cuticular layer of the hair, supporting protection."
Club soda has also been used to tame frizz, and to keep the hair soft for people who live in areas where the water is "hard," meaning it has a high mineral content.
It's gentler than clarifying shampoos that often leave the hair feeling stripped and brittle, and you can find a bottle at just about any grocery or convenient store for one to two dollars.
Warning: Perfection ahead.
