This Woman Used A $25 Blanket To Make Pajamas Just Like Kim Kardashian's $268 Set On SKIMS

This is 23-year-old influencer and college student Kheumani.

In one of her recent DIY tutorials on YouTube, she showed how she made Kim Kardashian's expensive pajamas out of a $25 blanket from Walmart!

youtube.com

Kheumani told BuzzFeed, "I noticed the positive response received on social media regarding Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS cozy pajama set. The only complaint from some people on social media was the price point. For this reason, I decided to recreate the fashionable look for an inexpensive price to motivate others that were not able to afford the pajama set."

For reference, Kim's shapewear clothing line – SKIMS – sells pajama pants for $88, a tank for $52, and a robe for $128, making the whole pajama set $268 total.

Kheumani shared her tutorial on Twitter and it quickly went viral with over 320,000 likes and over 56,000 retweets.

I heard Kim K charging $250+ for this set & I just made it for $25 out of a blanket I got from Walmart. You’re welcome 😭 Link to tutorial- https://t.co/uOvPuCMpw5

People appreciated her craftiness in the DIY.

@Kheumani I used to take skirts and make crop tops dresses turn things that we normally wear and reverse how you wear them im big on fashion @ Kheumani do your thing beautiful piece you put together looks just as fabulous you did so good Lady keep it up

People were excited to make them for their partners.

And, well, some people just admired her because they don't know how to sew, lol.

So, wanna know how she made it? OK! Go to Walmart and get this blanket in a king size:

Twitter: @Kheumani

Kheumani said, "Instead of going to a traditional fabric store, I decided to go to Walmart to see if I could find a blanket that was similar in texture. I was able to locate the $25 blanket that was very similar to the fabric of the cozy pajama set on my first visit to the store."

NOTE: I couldn't find this exact blanket on Walmart's website, so it must only be available in store.

Next, you will need a crop top, lounge pants, and a bath robe.

"I used a robe, tank top, and pajama pants from my closet as a template for sizing purposes. I cut out all the pieces for the pajama set, then sewed the appropriate pieces together to recreate the look," explained Kheumani.

And that's it! The result looks like this:

Kheumani said she is a huge fan of Kim K. "Her success in the fashion industry is both inspirational and aspirational. Furthermore, it is also important to add your own personal touch so that it is an inspired look versus a replica," she said.

I Got A "Game Of Thrones" Anti-Aging Facial And This Is What It Did To My Skin

Greetings. I'm Krista and, just like you, every day I get a little bit older.

Krista Torres

You can learn more about the Sleep & Glow pillow on their website. They cost $159.

And now, I've discovered a facial that is supposed to be like botox without the needles. The DMK Enzyme Facial is being called the Game of Thrones facial on Instagram because it makes you look like a White Walker from the show...

...I mean, I see the resemblance:

I really wanted to know was how this facial was different from other anti-aging facials, so I started doing some research. The DMK Enzyme Masque uses a “reverse osmosis” effect which removes toxins and fluids from your skin. It is the same as the process used to purify water and it's also how our kidneys purify our blood.

youtube.com

So, I decided to experience it for myself. Inside Account Manager Laura Hernandez performed the facial on me at the DMK headquarters in Santa Fe Springs, California.

After my face was cleansed, a sebum soak was applied. "Our sebum soak spirals into the pores of your skin and loosens the sebum to make it rise to the surface, so we can extract it without causing any trauma or any pigmentation on your skin," Laura told BuzzFeed.

Next, an exfoliant was used on me. Laura explained, "The exfoliation method we use pulls water levels from the new cells underneath your skin. It blows up all the dead cells that sit topically on your skin from not exfoliating regularly. It's going to make them detach and pop off of your skin. Our exfoliation method is great for hydrating and plumping the skin."

Then, the enzyme masque was applied to my face and neck:

Krista Torres

"The enzyme therapy masque stimulates the mitochondria in your skin, stimulating the collagen factory to make sure that it's making the collagen properly. It's bringing oxygen directly from your lungs to your face to make sure that all the cells are living longer and doing what they're supposed to do. It also gives you lymphatic drainage to detoxify your skin," Laura said.

To do its magic, the masque had to sit for 45 minutes. It started hardening right away and I legit could not close my mouth.

With every passing minute, the masque got tighter and tighter and I could actually feel my skin pulsating.

IT WAS VERY CREEPY AND HARD TO RELAX. But, also, I kind of liked it because it felt like it was deeply penetrating my skin like it was supposed to.

And, just for dramatic effect, here is me and a White Walker:

After a long 45 minutes, it was time to wash the masque off. It took a while because it felt like it was glued to my face – kind of like when super glue dries on your fingers.

But, once it was off, my skin felt amazing. I actually had some of the mottling that happens due to the increased blood flow in your face from the masque.

After the masque, came a transdermal infusion – which is basically where they apply a cocktail of the skincare products they feel your skin needs.

Krista Torres

"DMK's home prescriptive products have transdermal delivery, meaning they sit on the voids of your skin for up to eight hours and, as the cells in your skin need that nutrient, they go into the voids and they grab it. We only use ingredients that your skin recognizes. None of our products are going to just sit on top of you skin and plump it up and make it look shiny. Our ingredients actually penetrate the skin," said Laura.

After the entire experience, I felt rejuvenated and my skin felt amazing. This was a totally unlike any other facial I've ever experienced and, although I didn't notice a life-changing skin transformation, it definitely felt like my skin got the thorough deep-cleaning it needed. DMK's scientific method of rejuvenating the skin is definitely something that I can see being beneficial long term.

Note: DMK Skincare performed this service free of charge.

I Tried Jennifer Lopez's Skincare Routine For 6 Weeks And Here's What Happened To My Skin

Well, it's December and I have been waiting ALL YEAR for the skincare line that Jennifer Lopez was supposedly launching in 2019, but it still has not been released. A true tragedy.

We all know Jennifer is blessed with beauty genes, but I really just wanted to know what skincare products she uses to obtain such a lovely, dewy face at 50 FREAKING YEARS OLD!

So, I started doing some research and – at first – I was really bummed because I was finding stuff I already knew, like wear sunscreen daily, drink lots of water, and get lots of sleep. Last year, she told In Style she tries to get 9-10 hours of sleep!

But, then I found the actual products she reportedly uses. In an interview with Well + Good, her makeup artist Mary Phillips said that Jennifer loves Själ Saphir Concentrate – a facial oil that contains aquamarine, botanical retinol, soothing blue chamomile, and a biomarine complex.

And, in an interview with Hello!, Jennifer listed Lancer The Method: Cleanse and Lancer Eye Contour Lifting Cream as some of her favorite beauty products. (I also found out Candace Cameron Bure uses Lancer products as well.)

In addition, I found the moisturizing cream she swears by, straight from her lips!

bravotv.com

On Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Jennifer was asked about a $1,000-per-ounce face cream that her ex-husband Chris Judd said she used every day. She then revealed that she has been using a cream from Whole Foods for about 10 years: Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream. It is available at Dermstore for $45.

The last thing I kept coming across when researching J.Lo's skin was the importance of collagen.

Krista Torres

The flavorless collagen is available on Amazon for $12.71.

So, after I got the collagen, I got everything else I needed to mimic her reported skincare routine: a facial cleanser, a facial oil, an eye cream, a moisturizer, and sunscreen.

Krista Torres

From left to right, the products are: Lancer The Method: Cleanse ($55), Lancer Eye Contour Lifting Cream ($95), L'Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal Moisturizer + Sunscreen ($17.93), Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream ($26.65), and Själ Saphir Concentrate ($175).

Here are my before pics. I am starting to get fine lines on my forehead, so I really hoped these products would help. 😰

The Lancer The Method: Cleanse has kind of a gel-like feel, with exfoliating beads in it. When I started scrubbing it on my face, I fell in love. It has a cool, minty feeling and the beads felt like they were doing their job of exfoliating. My face felt clean and refreshed afterwards.

Next, I applied the Själ Saphir Concentrate. The directions said you only need a couple drops, which I was happy about because this oil was very pricey! It has a mild floral scent, which was pleasant. I patted it in my face and neck and it seemed to absorb well.

The Lancer Eye Contour Lifting Cream was very smooth and silky. I dabbed it on with my ring finger and, just like the cleanser, it also left a nice, cool feeling on my skin.

Let me start by saying the Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream is intended for "day use," but it is thick. Like, extremely thick, so I used it at night instead. It smells lovely – just like roses. And, although I didn't think I would like a face cream this thick, I actually really liked it on my skin. It didn't feel super heavy, just deeply moisturizing.

I was already happy with the way my skin looked during the first week. It felt more ~plump~ and it looked more hydrated for sure. I felt like the cleanser was doing a good job of removing my makeup as well.

The following week, however, I was not so happy. I started having mad breakouts, my skin was angry! It wasn't that time of the month for me, so I started getting worried that some (or all) of the products weren't going to be a fit for me. After reading that my skin was probably purging from the new products, I decided to wait it out.

After that second week, I was glad I decided to wait things out. My skin was turning back to normal, except that lil' guy you can still see on my left cheek. I should also note that, in addition to taking collagen every day, I increased my water intake as well (in this pic I'm chugging a giant cup of H2O to start the day.)

I was starting to notice that these products were bringing a nice color to my face (usually my skin would be more dull looking). One bad thing, however, was that I had never had a zit last this long on my cheek. I think it was because of the thick cream I was applying in combination with all the other products. Maybe it wasn't able to "dry" out? IDK, but that part was really annoying!

Cheek pimple aside, the benefits were really showing at this point. I truly feel like that magical face oil was helping give my skin a permanent glow.

I was pretty shocked at how much my forehead lines were faded by the sixth week. They didn't seem as prominent as they were before, and my son agreed – I mean, look how excited he is for me.

For reference, here is my forehead in week three vs. week six:

FINAL RESULTS:

I am happy to report that these products – paired with daily collagen – worked really well for me. However, I will say that upping my daily H20 intake (and lowering my daily diet soda consumption, because, hey, we all have vices) probably also helped as well. The only downside is that these products could be problematic for people with acne-prone skin, I mean, my cheek pimple didn't go away for about five weeks! That being said, I'm still going to continue to use these products because the benefits outweigh the negatives for me.

And Jen, you can release that J.Lo skincare line anytime now. We are ready...
