Alicia Daniella is the unbelievably gorgeous woman who started the #IWillNotApologizeForBeingDarkSkin hashtag.
She shared via Twitter that she used to hate her complexion because of jokes about dark skin, but now she loves it.
Alicia tells BuzzFeed Life that growing up, people would call her names, like ape and gorilla, and the bullying even turned physical as kids would pull her hair and push her.
Now, though, the 23-year-old aspiring marketing director has come into her own and says, "I really just want to let everyone know that being dark skinned is not a disease, and I will not apologize for those who feel uncomfortable."
And now that she's taken to social media to embrace her complexion, other people are following her lead.
